Celebrating 45 Years as Church Organist

Written by
Singing praises to God is part of the worship God requires of His people. Since the formation of Israel as God’s special people, Scripture records that musical accompaniment was used with singing. When the Lord saved the Israelites by destroying Pharaoh and his chariots in the Red Sea, Miriam, Moses’ sister, used a timbrel to accompany the singing of the women in praise of God’s wonderful works (Exodus 15:21,22). A harp was used by David (1 Samuel 16:23; 2 Samuel 6:5) and often combined with other instruments such as psalteries, cymbals, trumpets, stringed instruments in public worship (1 Chronicles 25:3; Psalm 33:2; 81:2; 150:3-6).
