Annual Seminary Day 2013 - Sept 2, 2013
Invitation: The Theological Education Committee of the Free Reformed Churches extends a hearty invitation to all our church members and everyone who is interested in the cause of theological education.
Location: Providence Free Reformed Church, 269 St George Road, St George, ON.
Date: Monday, September 2, 2013 (Labour Day)
Times: • 9.45 a.m. Coffee Time • 10.30 a.m. Morning Session • 1.30 p.m. Afternoon Session
Speakers: Dr. Gerald M. Bilkes (Free Reformed Professor at Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary) is to speak in the morning on "Heidelberg Catechism University: A Message for Young and All" and Rev. Cornelis Pronk (emeritus Free Reformed Pastor and occasional instructor at PRTS) is to speak in the afternoon on "Diversity and Unity in Free Reformed Preaching."
Services: To promote the presence of families and youth, Nursery Care, Youth Activities and Musical Contributions are being planned. Refreshments and Lunch will be provided at cost. An Offering will be received for the Free Reformed Theological Education Fund. A brief update on Puritan Reformed Theological Seminary will be given.
July 7, 2013 – Dr. David Murray – installed as Pastor in the Grand Rapids Free Reformed Church
Having been vacant since June of 2010, with the emeritization of Dr. L. W. Bilkes, FRC-Grand Rapids was privileged and blessed to install Dr. David Murray as a Free Reformed minister laboring in our congregation.
The FRCNA synod 2013 unanimously approved Dr. Murray to be callable as an FRC pastor after which the voting members of our congregation gave unanimous approval for the call. By way of a special arrangement with PRTS, Dr. Murray, and our congregation, Dr. Murray will also continue his teaching at PRTS.
