Reinstating Witch Doctors In South Africa

South Africa's Parliament is considering honouring witch doctors. Sweeping recommendations have been made to "restore the dignity and standing of traditional healers" who were branded as witches under Apartheid rule, South African ministry Christians for Truth said. A parliamentary subcommittee is recommending that a council for traditional healers be established. The subcommittee also proposed that medical aid coverage should include traditional healer treatment. (From Religion Today)

This past summer saw the role of the witch doctor reinstated already, when for the World Cup Soccer, the South African team was sent on with prayers and blessings from a witch doctor. The light of the Gospel may have been shining brightly in South Africa at one time, but this country is quickly sinking into darkness again.
