Muslims Offended

Written by Rev. H. Bergsma
Shoe manufacturer Nike is making good on its promise to build several playgrounds to apologize for a marketing blunder. When Nike put the word "air" on a new shoe model two years ago, the stylized lines made the word look like Arab script for "Allah." Muslims considered that a sacrilege and threatened a worldwide boycott. Nike recalled 38,000 pairs of the shoes and agreed to build several playgrounds in Muslim communities. (From Religion Today)

I do not wish to suggest that we should begin to offend the Muslims with anything as silly as running-shoes. But notice how particular they are about whom they worship? Christians should be so particular! If, for every act of sacrilege upon the name and person of Jesus Christ, Christians should be repaid, every Christian church would have a playground.
